Michelham Priory

Michelham Priory has 800 years of history, from its foundation by Augustinian canons, through the destruction of the dissolution in Tudor times, to its later life as a country house. It was chosen by Living TV’s Most Haunted for its debut and centenary shows.

The island has many ghost stories: a former owner, a little girl, a grey lady, the Tudor lady, the maid and the Black Monk, alongside regular accounts of poltergeist activity, footsteps, thumps and voices.
